Deborah Benedic is a retired teacher of the Anchor Bay School District (French, English, International Cultures & Modern Dance). Presently, she is marketing director and co-owner of The Loft Fine Art in Downtown Mt.Clemens. Born in Trenton, Michigan and raised in Downriver, she now resides in Chesterfield, Michigan.

Photography is her passion. Taking photos all her life, she now has also experimented with the image transfer process which lends an ethereal quality to an ordinary photo. Deborah enjoys capturing both the beauty of nature from Iceland to her own backyard, as well as the repetition and lines of urban life in her work. She credits Wayne State University Dance instructor Ann Zirulnik with broadening her creative process through seeing the connections between art, science, math and choreography.

First studying pottery making at Central Michigan University, Deborah later studied drawing and painting with Detroit area artists Carolee Schmid and Glen Michaels.
